The Danish theory test format
The Danish driving theory test is based on traffic scenarios. You answer yes/no statements about what is happening in each situation. The goal is to show that you understand road signs, right of way, hazards, speed, lane choice, and safe driving behaviour.
- 25 scenarios in the test
- Several yes/no statements per scenario
- 25 minutes to complete the test
- Maximum 5 errors to pass
Can you prepare in English?
Yes. Many international learners in Denmark prepare in English before taking the test. The important thing is not just translating words, but understanding how Danish traffic rules are applied in real situations.
What to focus on first
Most learners should focus on right-of-way rules, road signs, speed limits, lane positioning, vulnerable road users, and hazard awareness. These topics appear again and again in realistic theory scenarios.
